- SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS AND SETUP
- =============================
- In order to use Microsoft V-Chat 2.0, you must have the following configuration:
-
- - A personal computer with a Pentium-based 100 MHz or higher processor
- - 16 MB of RAM and 11 MB of available hard-disk space
- - Windows 95 with DirectX 5.0 (or 3.0) or Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 3
- - A super VGA video-display card
- - A 14.4K-baud modem (28.8K recommended)
- - Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device
- - Optional: sound card and speakers

- IMPORTANT NOTE:

- - You do not have to uninstall previous versions of V-Chat.
-
- To uninstall Microsoft V-Chat 2.0
- ---------------------------------
- 1. Click the Start button, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
-
- 2. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
-
- 3. Click Microsoft V-Chat 2.0, and then click Add/Remove.
-
- 4. If a dialog box appears asking if you want to restart your computer,
- click Yes.

- GENERAL KNOWN ISSUES
- ====================

- - Download performance can be improved by installing IE 4.0 or later.
-
- - V-Chat 2.0 supports the Microsoft IntelliMouse(TM) pointing device. Avatar tilt
- is controlled by rotating the wheel control, and altitude can be changed by
- pressing down the wheel control and dragging the mouse up or down.
-
- - V-Chat 2.0 will connect to IRCX servers but does not support extended IRCX commands.
-
- - When you change a Web link or a portal property, you must use a valid image file.
- Supported image file formats are: .PNG, .BMP, .JPEG, or .GIF. If you use an invalid image
- file, no explicit error message will be displayed other than a default striped texture
- in the Preview window.

- - V-Chat 2.0 will not display messages from users who are not in the same room.
-
- - V-Chat 2.0 users will see extraneous Microsoft Chat data if Microsoft Chat is in
- comic mode.
-
- - Web links and portals are not active in Overview mode.
-
- - Nicknames may be truncated depending on the server you are connected to.
-
- - Extended characters may be allowed in the nickname depending on the server
- you are connected to.

- - Currently, users do not have the ability to create custom V-Chat spaces. However,
- please refer to the V-Chat web page for additional information.
